Fontan Pics Part 1

Pictures are out of order, more will come later i have 2 appts today so tonight i will post the good ones where he is healed. In the 1st Pic is me laying on the bed with Liam heading to OR since Liam booger wouldnt drink the loopy medicine, so i had to go in and hold him until he was out. The next photo was after Liam got out of surgery and we came in real quick to see him. 3RD PICTURE is Liams brother Jake who was not happy that Liam had surgery and eeg. NEXT Liam during his 24 hour EEG. Poor Liam all swelled up, he had no idea what was goin on as well as us with his brain bleed and swelling. Liam laying in bed with his heart buddy after surgery before siezure and Brain Bleed. The last of the Pictures were of Liam right out of Surgery, and the last ones were Liam in the Waiting room before surgery we were there too early to check in. Then we were waiting so he got to play with some toys. Then the last 2 were the day before surgery Pre Op day with his big Sissy eating lunch and being goofy.

Liams Fontan Surgery Update

Sorry no updates, I didnt have a computer in the hospital, Liam had his Fontan it was about 6 hours, everything went great they said he woke up in the OR and was fighting them off to get tubes out!! It took 7 people to hold him down, and he almost ripped his Foley Catheter out so they removed it before he did get to it and caused a whole other set of problems. Liams Brother and Sisters and Nana and Papa were there at the hospital to support us. about 6 hours later Liam had a siezure that lasted no longer than a minute, they came up to do a brain scan to find out that Liam had a Brain Bleed. They started Liam on siezure medicine and did EEG to make sure he didn't have any sleeping siezures.. When the results came back they said his brain patterns were very slow and showed more siezures so they switched his siezsure medicine to KEPPRA, and did another EEG to make sure that they stopped which they did. Liam wouldnt open his eyes or talk for days, they were getting very worried, Finally after a week Liam woke up but was not talking in full sentences and the words he was saying were very slurred, he said mommy fine but daddy was DOLLY which he could say just fine before surgery as well as apple juice which he was saying Chochle CHU and we couldnt understand. It took a few more EEGS to make sure nothing else was going on, they said it was just from the Swelling in his brain. He recovered thank god, Liams also has a paralyzed lung and diaphram on the right side so he was on oxygen after surgery. Liam was gettignn dishcharged the first week of November, but that Monday he had pain in his leg due to a huge blood clot so Liam is on Coumaden and will remain until the clot is gone and the Hole they put in his heart closes up. So we didnt get home until right before Thanksgiving, Im so grateful for everyone who still follows this blog, Ihave been busy since we have been home and i really should have double checked his sight Sooo sorry for not posting this it saved as draft and i had no clue! Liam is doing well both Heart and Brain.

Liam is having Surgery tomorrow first case!! We are leaving today to have Pre Op Testing. Liams big sissy's College is right near the hospital so when we are finished we are going to pick her up so she can see Liam and spend time with him before the surgery. I will be updating on everything when i can, Jerry will be with me today thru Sunday but after that he will have to return to Work unfortunatly. Please pray for a speedy recovery like the Glenn 5 days!!! They are telling me about 7 to 14 days . Well we are trying to get these kids off to school so we can get down there and get things started so we have more free time with Liam. Thank You for your prayers and support.

SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING, ITS JUST SO EASY NOT TO POST ANYMORE BECAUSE LIAM IS DOING AWESOME! Liam went to his Heart Cathe and said he was STELLAR! We did not have to spend the night over. They said he was still so little for the 3rd stage Surgery the FONTAN. They want him to gain 5 pounds by atleast July , that is when they want to do his surgery. He weighed 22 pounds in February for his Heart Cathe, I don't know what he weighs now but we have been giving him more cookies and fattening stuff, plus he has been throwing up meals atleast once a day i think because he is so full ughh , Im hoping he has atleast gained some weight, he has filled out more but still so tiny. He finally fits in 18 month Clothes and still wears a # 3 diaper. But he can talk sooooooooooooooooo good! He says sentences and it just amazes everyone someone so tiny can speak so much and clearly! He knows his ABC's and alot of other songs. He knows some of his colors, Orange and Blue and Purple and Yellow, almost has green mixes it up with Yellow but thats ok he is on his way!! He can count up to 18 then skips 19 and says 20!!!! He is so smart and amazes me everyday, here are all the pictures of Liam i have promised and never did! HEART CATHE

Liam is going for his Heart Cathe today! He is 3rd case so at 8am we will be checked in. We are leaving here at 4 am to beat traffic get our parking spot and spend time with Liam. Please pray for our little guy. I never got pictures up since its been really hectic around here, so i will put them all up when we are home. I will be updating on here if i can get to a computer at the Hospital or i can call my brother and see if he can update for us. Its been a long time since Liam's last heart Cathe,and they didn't have to do any procedures any time before, but this time around they were talking about Coiling off Collaterols and ballooning and stenting some arteries. Im not going to know for sure until after he is done. Well off to finish getting things packed up and get on the road. Thank you for your prayers in advance

Sorry for not posting since Liam's birthday, Its been hectic months for us, Liam lost his insurance the end of September and we were not informed until we tried to get his Medicine in August it was denied insurance and we paid out of pocket. We called the insurance and asked what happened and they said it ended and i asked why didnt you send me a letter before it ended? So we sent all our information in and they said they would let us know and a few weeks went by and i called them and they said that they were missing information so i went back in and signed more papers and then i waited 2 weeks and called again and they said they closed the case and we were denied. I asked WHY???!! Because you stated Liam had Insurance, I said where did i state that, so we came back in and the papers asked do you have insurance we checked no, what was the past insurance, we put the Medicaid and the numbers and they were like ooo its our mistake! So we started all over again. Now we are waiting Liam has had his Echo and they said it was time for Surgery! He has to get a sedated echo first and then the Heart Cathe. They said he has some collaterols and they are going down into his lungs so thats why he needs the sedated echo first. Liam has been doing well, he has a cough now so he is on a nebulizer, he has to get well before he can even have the Heart Cathe, he doesn't have a fever just a cough. We had a great Thanksgiving with family and a Great Christmas and New Year i will post the rest of the Birthday pictures and Halloween pictures Christmas.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LIAM. He turned 2 on September 24th, its been a busy month for us so i am so sorry this is soo late. We celebrated at home and had a pool party with just family for Liam. Liam took his first steps to walking on his own September 22nd! We are sooo proud of him! He now thinks he is a proffesional walker, but he does have to grab on to something and is doing wonderful. His PT now wants to see him every 2 weeks instead of weekly, so this means Liam is making great progress. He is talking in sentences now and always says he wants something and if he can't have it he does show us what the terrible 2's are lol but he really is a good boy, i can't complain about anything. He is happy all the time and loooooves to play. He loves Dinosaurs and cars and he loooves to dance to music when its on. We are so amazed that he is doing well and another year has past. We are so thankful for the gifts and cards we recieved from friends in Virginia for Liam, thank you so much. Enjoy Pictures of Liam's birthday. Liam's Sick Update

Liam got his first fever since he was born :( but he is doing great, Last Friday he started taking alot of naps and it happened over the weekend then on Monday morning he had a fever of 101. He felt Horrible! I took him to the Doctors and his Temp was going over 102 so we gave him suppositories since he was throwing up his tylenol. He is now feeling so much better and eating more, The Ped has him on Antibiotic because she says with heart patients like him an infection can sneak up fast and he can end up in the ER and hospital, so on the safe side Liam is on an Antibiotic and doing well. I have some Pictures here of our summer to Universal and some of his brother and sisters. And Pictures of him sick and feeling better.Liam's big brother is going to start Pre K!!! So now i will have 4 kids at school and it will just be Me and Liam!! Liam gets to play with all of his toys without having to fight his older brother. This is going to be great bonding and special time with him since i don't have to put Liam down or in the playpen to take care of Jake. Im excited and sad that all my children are growing up so fast. Christin is a Senior and already getting herself prepared for College, and Kyra Hope is in 5th grade and is a Saftey Patrol in her school and Aryanna is in 3rd grade. Time just goes by so fast! Liam picked up the Heart Insight book, guess he wants to learn early how to take care of his heart and health early! Then he was kissing someone in that book and tore it.

New Computer

I am glad to say that we are back up running. I had to get a new computer because trying to fix the old one would cost as much as a new one. Now for the Summer Update. Liam hasn't had any doctor appointment this summer except getting his braces, which i will post pictures soon. Our summer was nice and relaxing Liam enjoyed watching his brother and sisters go Bowling, and he loved the pool we went almost everyday before it got to hot out. We went back to Universal Studios and Island Adventure, and Liam just enjoyed the excitement of the people and things going on. Nana and Papa were not on this trip so Daddy and Mommy had to take turns taking the kids on rides and we would stay back in the air condition. We also took a trip to go see Aunt Mary and Uncle Erik, and cousins Kristina and Zachary. Then a visit to our Friends house in Longwood. Then we headed back to Universal for one more day of fun and then drove home. Liam's sisters had to get ready for school so we got to go to the mall and buy clothes and school supplies. And Liam has a new pair of shoes to go over his braces. He loves them. Liam has been repeating everything and talking in sentences and his favorite sentence is Mommy i want Mcdonalds!!! thats all he talks about, he really has only had it a couple times but he says it all the time when he is hungry. He also knows when i go get my coffee he says Mommy Hot Foffee and then he sneaks the word donut in because i get it from Dunkin Donuts. Ever since Liam has had his braces he can now stand and take steps assisted since he can't do it himself yet but, as before we believe he was hurting because of his ankles. So now that he has new shoes this should also help him feel more secure to stand on his own and maybe take a few steps without holding onto something. Im still trying to think of all the things we have done this summer but i am sure it will come to me after so when i post pictures i will update then. Liam does have a Cardiology appointment September 8th, i am kinda nervous because this is the time she really looks at him and reports to Liam's Surgeon. Then Liam's Surgeon calls for an appointment to see Liam and he then will discuss what he and Liams PC say about the next surgery. I know this is long and without pictures, but will update with them soon. Thanks again for checking up on Liam and your support and prayers are greatly appreciated

July Update

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! Sorry so long before an update. My computer has crashed and we are working to get it up again. I am borrowing my brothers computer today to update. We had a great 4th of July, We had a big party with the pool and bbq. Liam loooves the pool. Then we went to see the FIREWORKS. Liam was kinda scared but then got into them and said ooo wooow and woooah! he is sooo cute. I will post pictures when i get my computer up. We have been really busy this summer and constantly on the go. We are hardly home except to go to sleep. Liam went to his Orthotic appointment last week and got measured for his braces fro his feet and we just picked them up Yesterday. They are sooo cute they have buses and trucks and stoplights and dumptrucks andrace cars. I have to go buy him some shoes now that can fit his new braces. This is to help him with starting to walk, he still isn't walking, they say another 9 months or more, but the braces have to stay on his feet between 2 to 3 years. Liam is getting so big and repeating everything like a parrot would. He is soo smart too. He loves to sing and dance his favorite is E I E I O and thats all he knows but loves to sing it and be sung too. I will post more when i have my computer up and running and have pictures of him and his new braces. Hope everyone is having a fun and safe summer

Happ Fathers Day

Happy Father's Day! Hope everyone Father out there had a special day. Prayers were for families that are in the hospital with their children having surgeries and other issues. We had a nice day. Liam spent time with his father and we had cake and family time and then let a tired daddy sleep. I had gone out for lunch with my father and mother for a couple hours for Fathers day it was really nice, while daddy played with the kids. Here are some Pictures of Liam and his brother and sisters and father on Father's Day. Liam has been doing good, he still is working on walking,he is not trying at all and doesn't like to be put up on his feet. His PT tells me it will be another 9 months if that to get him walking,but Liam is stubborn and might shock us all. Prayers for him to let us practice walking with him, he rather be on his knees and his little Knees are getting so bruised up from the floors. Liam talks alot now, he repeats anything that his brother and sisters say, his favorite saying right now is AWW MAN from Dora the Explorer Swiper the Fox. He loves that show and many others. He also is says Foffee ( coffee) when he sees me drinking it, his older sister Aryanna said that when she was little, its soo cute! He loves Choo's Choo's and cars and trucks anything with wheels, true lil man! He has 2 bottom teeth finally coming in and he loves to sing row row row your boat. I think that is his favorite song. But he loves to be sung too. He is 21 months now and i don't know how much he weighs but he sure is getting heavier to carry around. He is the sweetest little boy who loves his kisses, loves laughing and being silly. Thank You for still checking up on us and i will continue to put updates and pictures. He isn't due for another Pediatrician or Cardiologist until September,so lets pray that nothing is in betweenthese months.

Memorial Day Orlando Vacation

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We took a mini vacation to Orlando and went to Universal Studios and Island Of Adventure we had a great time. Liam just chilled in his stroller and loved seeing all the kids and people and he got to see Barny and Spiderman! He loved being pushed around all day. His Nana and Papa went on vacation with us too. It was very nice. It was hot the day we went to Universal but his grandparents took him in a/c stores and restaurants while we went on rides and he was spoiled with all the desserts he got with his meals and he did very well and didn't complain at all at the parks, we hardly heard him talk he was just absorbing everything around him! Monday was hang out and let him crawl and stand since 2 days we were either holding him or he was in the stroller and we went to the pool in the afternoon before we had to pack up and come home.
We had a great weekend and came home Monday night in time for the kids to go to bed and get to school the next day. My camera was filled up so i didn't get too many pictures but here are some pictures of Liam and his family, they are kinda backwards i tried to get them in order but my computer is acting weird. I will be updating soon!

Just posting some pictures, Liams older sister is sick with a cold and has past it to his other sister, Today Liam is starting to sneeze a bit and same with his other sister, Jake hasn't sneezed, lets just pray that he doesn't get the cold or get sick! He has been so healthy and we are leaving to go on a mini vacation on Friday, i will post pictures, Please pray that Kyra Hope feels better, and liam doesn't get sick and his other sisters and brother. Happy Mother's Day! I hope every Mom had a great day. We sure did, dh cooked for me and my mother and both Brothers and Sil's. It was a great day, and then Mom got to go out with her brothers and sils and parents for a drink at the Intercoastal. It was really a special day. Liam is starting seperation anxiety and will not go to anyone but me or his father!!! When we go out in the stores he keeps his head on my shoulder with his face buried so he can't see anyone. It reminds me of Jake, how he started that and now he is almost 4 and now coming out of his shell and talking to everyone, i just hope that he isn't like that!! Liam says so much now, when something is his he says MINE! or if i ask a question he says MEEEEE, because usually his older sisters say Me i do i do MEEE its really cute. He is calling his paci a BO BO i was trying to figure out what he was asking for but finally after he picked it up and screams BO BO. Liam had his Cardiology appt Wednesday and he didn't see his PC but i met the one that was on call for her and he was very nice. He did an Echo and he said everything looked very good and that his sinusoids looked calm and not so aggressive, he said his color was stellar so i felt really good with that appointment, even though we didnt have his regular doctor. The weather here has been awesome in the high 80's, but this past week in the 90's, so our Summer is kicking off and now i have to figure out what we are going to do now with Liam that the Weather is def to hot for him to go out in. We enjoyed our cool Fall and warm Spring but now its just HOT! Well i guess we will be doing things first thing in the Morning and then home in the afternoon and then out again in the evening. Liam spent time with his Nana yesterday and me and his big brother Jake went to the beach, my back got burned up, but thats because i don't have elastic arms lol Hopefully Liam will get out of this phase because he was such an outgoing boy and now he is just so scared! Maybe if someone has some pointers to help please let me know :) Here are some pictures from Mothers day, I didn't get any with me on my camera, but my mother has mine so i will post those later when she sends them to me. Liam is going on 20 months in 11 days i can't believe how fast time flys by! We are working on Walking with Liam in PT and i am going shoe shopping for him the PT said we need to find a hi top, so i will be on the hunt, he has such little feet!

Hey, sorry so long for an update. We have been so busy. Liam has been doing so much more and its hard for me to sit at the computer and update. Liam still goes to Physical Therapy, now on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Speech Therapy on Wednesdays. Liam started crawling on his knees about a month ago!! yayyy Liam, and now he can pull himself up to stand and he just started cruising about 2 weeks ago. I am so proud of him. He works really hard at PT and i work with him at home. Now that he is mobile he doesn't want to be in his playpen or held down, and he also shows his Therapist his stubborness, but thats what he is... a fighter!!! Liam is talking so much more, he repeats alot of words, and of course when you want to show it off he makes a liar out of us and he just stares. He is just amazing. Liam has taken off on eating!! He loves to eat Table food, He eats grits, eggs, oatmeal toast pancakes cheerios and he eats Spaghetti and meatballs ,grilled cheese and pizza and other sandwiches and loves his veggies too!! His last RSV shot was April 24th and he weighed 18 and half pounds! He goes to his Cardiologist May 6th and he will have an echo, i hope it all goes well and he will cooperate, now that he is older he fights wth nurses and doctors now for shots and check ups. Liams favorite toys are like his big brothers trains and cars anything that moves with wheels, and anything that he can crawl to and play. Liam loves to give kisses and is the sweetest boy. He keeps us busy with his play as you see i can hardly sit down, but i will definitly keeping up with updates from now on. 2009 update

Happy New Year!!! I know that i haven't updated, but my computer was down for about 3 weeks and now i have a quick minute to update. January 5th Liam had his RSV shot. He doesn't go back until March 2nd. He also went to his Cardiology appointment on January 29th. She said he sounded good, she didn't do an echo, but will for his next appointment in May since i had to drive all the way to Port St Lucie to see her because she now works one month and off one month. She has upped a couple of Liam's medicines. He weighs 17 pounds, but is eating really well. Liam is still in Physical Therapy and has showed alot of progress. We have been working on getting him to crawl so he has now started doing a army crawl as before he would just scoot on his belly. That is probably why he isn't putting any weight on since he is working so hard on crawling and standing and all the stuff he does to play. I swear last night i saw him pull himself up on his head and looking upside down and i said something so he sat down, i can't wait to tell his PT about it. He didn't do it again, i think it was something that he did and didn't even think about. February 7-14th was CHD Awareness week. We went to a Heart Picnic on Saturday Feb 14th for the Pediatric Heart house it was really nice. Liam got to meet some hlhs kids and i got to meet families i have met on the HLHS support group that i am in. It was very nice to meet them and their Children. I will be posting pictures soon i have to charge the camera battery. Liam also got a haircut! It was so long and going into his eyes so i took my scissors and started cutting away! those pictures will be posted too Im glad to be back on the computer to update on Liam. I know that people were getting worried since i haven't updated , but i am back on and will be posting pictures tonight.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! Its been a while since i posted, but we have been busy! Liam has tongue tie we found out at ST not even 5 min with her and she caught it. But we aren't going to do anything right now, we are going to wait until he is older and see if it causes any speech problems. Liam enjoyed Christmas and got a lot of neat gifts. We missed the deadline for our Christmas Picture Cards to be sent out by Christmas so we won't be able to send them out until after the New Year. We hope everyone had a great Christmas. We had our family over Christmas day for dinner and presents it was very nice. Its been a Blessed year with Liam's second surgery behind us and enjoying Liam everyday. We are so thankful for all the cards we received from our families and friends and Heart Family friends. Liam enjoyed his Christmas. Liam had his 15 month check up he is still 17 pounds, we thought he would have gained since all the xmas cookies and crackers he has been eating! Yes he is starting to finally get the hang of eating! I will post more pictures soon :)

Liam Update

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! We had family over and cooked a wonderful meal and had a great time with our family. We are so Thankful for everything, God, Family, Friends, The doctors and Nurses, everyones continued prayers and support and donations to Liam. We appreciate everything. Its been hard for me to get on the computer and do updates, since now my week Consist of Running Liam to PT Monday and Tuesday and Speech on Wednesday. Today he has after his ST to get his RSV shot, so he is not going to be a happy camper. The Holidays are just around the corner and its been busy busy busy. Liam has been doing really awesome in his PT. He has only gone for 2 weeks and we have him standing not on his own but wanting to stand for a few min with a little help and his Therapist is just so awesome. Liam is now sitting on his own he is learning to put his hands down not to fall but he just cant hold himself up just yet but he is learning and getting stronger! Liam has his first ST today well 2nd, last week was just to getting information on him, she will be working with him to start learning how to eat number 3 foods without choking, I got Liam a safty net ring, which you can put fruit and food in and they can't choke but they can get the tast through the net and it teaches him how to chew, i cut up some apples and he just chews away. he loves it and i don't have to worry about him choking. Liam's Vocabulary is growing, he says mommy,daddy, doggy, Hi,byebye, all gone, cookie, ba ba,and he is trying to say Sponge Bob! He loves the show. He can make animal noises when i ask him what a monkey, donkey,snake make he makes the noises its so cute, I know im probably missing something but i will update it in the next post. Physical Therapy Update

Liam had his Physical Therapy Appointment yesterday. It went really well. She did a lot of neat things with him to get him to play on the floor. Liam is very flexible and I forgot to mention in the last update that at his 1 year doctor appointment the peditrician thinks he has what Kyra Hope and Aryanna have. the Benign Congenital Ligament Laxity, which means their joints are really loose. Liam is so flexible that he can bend all his fingers backwards and his feet too. His legs bend all the way behind his head also just like Kyra Hope was, So the Physical Therapist said its going to take longer to work with him since he has this condition she also made these shorts out of an ace bandage that will constrict his legs from going over his head and that will teach him fast how to use his legs and get stronger instead of being so flexible. Liam has a lot of work ahead of him. She worked with him for a full hour and poor Liam looked worked but she has decided that Monday and Tuesdays will be good for 30 min sessions until he can build up to the hour. Liam looked like he was having fun playing with all the new toys and he did good for 45 min but was starting to get upset when he was tiring out. We are so happy that he is getting the help he needs so he can start being a "Normal Baby" I just have been so sad for him not being able to be crawl after his brother and sisters and he just watches and laughs when they run by. I can't wait for the day he is the one running by. Liam will be having Speach Therapy also i am waiting for that Therapist to call to set an appointment, I will update on that too. I posted more pictures of Liam i forgot to post in the last update.

I am so sorry its been a while, we have been so busy and i hardly have time to sit and update. Liam has been doing really well. He was sick on Halloween with a fever but i think it was from the 4 shots he got at his 1 year old check up earlier that morning. I will post his Halloween pictures soon.Liam had a Cardiology appt on October 24th and everything looks good, She didn't get a good look at the Glenn because he was moving around too much but she said he is doing well and his 02 sats are running 86 to 91. Liam had his RSV shot on November 5th and will get them monthly thru the RSV season, his next RSV shot is December 3rd. He will be getting his Flu shot on Wednesday. My poor baby and all his shots. Liam weighs 16 pounds and 2 ounces. Liam's first tooth popped thru on the bottom on Friday October 24th he is soo cute and another next to it looks like it will be in soon. Liam isn't cranky with the teeth but he is just not wanting to eat which is very frustrating to us. I have tried number 3 foods so he can get use to the texture but he really isn't ready to eat it since he chokes on it and throws everything up that he eats. I FINALLY GOT A PHYSICAL THERAPIST FOR LIAM!!! He is going Tomorrow at 9 am. I am soo happy. He was suppose to be there today at 9 am but i wrote down the wrong time for his appt so tomorrow is his first day. He will be going Monday and Tuesday every week or more after she evaluates him tomorrow. Liam can sit up but can't reach over to grab things or he will fall, I am hoping that withthis PT he can get stronger and start crawling before the summer. I want to Apologize for not posting sooner but after Liam's 1st Birthday we had our other childrens birthday to get ready for and we have been busy since. I am thankful that you leave comments and prayers still for Liam. These pictures are of Liam of the last couple months for his big 1st bday and some other pictures afterwards . I will be updating on his PT/ST appointment and other updates. I almost forgot, Liam is getting a big Vocabulary, he says Doggy, Baby, Ba Ba, ALL GONE!!! Whenever he finishes eating we say all gone and he says that when he doesn't want anymore food. He makes animal noises for a monkey and he says HEEEE HAW FOR A DONKEY ITS SOO CUTE! He can say clap as he claps his hands and he loves music and will hum to it if he hears some. Liam is so amazing and puts a smile on my face everyday.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY

Today is Liam's 1st birthday. I can't believe how fast this year has gone, but when you think back on the birth and the surgeries how slow it went then. We are still in shock that he is turning 1. Last year we really didn't know if Liam would be here with us today and having faith in God and prayers from friends and family and from other Heart Families we met online and in person we would have never had made it through all this. We now know their is hope for these children more now than 20 years ago, We have wanted to get in the CHD Community and start donating for CHD Awareness, so we are designing shirts that you can buy and all proceeds will be going to a CHD Charity, If you are interested just leave a response and when we finish the shirts we will post what they look like and how much and i will have the CHD charity Posted that the money will go to. But right now i have a BIG 1 YEAR OLD BIRTHDAY PARTY TOGETHER before i can start working on the shirts. Actually i have 3 birthday parties to get together lol Liams older sister Aryanna's birthday is tomorrow she will be turning 7 and then Friday is Jakes 3rd Birthday. We are thankful for all the friends and family who continue to pray and leave comments for Liam.

We will be having a big party for Liam on Saturday. I will be taking a lot of pictures and post them with his party update. This year has really been a hard one for us, and we take our emotions we still have day by day. We are so Blessed to have Liam in our life and that we can post every milestone that he has accomplished.

Sorry so long for an update, i have been having computer problems and not able to get to get to this website and others to update. Liam has been doing well, he hasn't had any doctor visits or any complications. We are coming up on Liam's 1st Birthday in 2 weeks September 24th, we will be having a big party for him on the 27th so i will definitely be updating then and showing off pictures. I am going to try to post some recent pictures of Liam since i have been having problems with my computer i hope they load. We were very lucky to have not had any of those hurricanes, Tropical Storm Hannah did stay on the coast and we got a few days of wind and rain but nothing we couldn't handle. We were ready to leave if Hurricane Ike would have come through, we had ordered all Liams medicines and packed just incase, it was looking pretty scary for us for a few days but i am glad it turned away. Unfortunatley it turned up towards the coast and thru texas where i have met alot of Heart Families online and a few were in the Hospital waiting for their children to go thru the Glenn or the 3rd stage surgery the Fontan. We definitely prayed for Texas and the families and are glad that the families we do know are fine.

Hi, sorry about not posting in over a month. I didn't have any time to get on the computer, since our summer was ending so soon after July went by so fast. The kids are back at school August 18th and I have been trying to adjust without having all the kids home. Liam has had no issues at all this summer and doing great. We had gone on a little vacation to visit my brother and wife and my niece and nephews. We also Visited my best friend and her family who lives only 15 min down the street It was only a 3 hour drive and we had fun and the girls went with Nana and Papa to Universal and parks and had a great time. Liam is growing so fast, he went to his Pediatrician August 1st and he is 26 inches and he has hit the 15 pound mark yayy. Liam hasn't had any physical therapy sessions in a while, so i am trying to get him a new pt that i am happier with that someone had told me about. Liam is now rolling from his tummy to his back and he is also starting to wave hi and bye, and he also has started saying Hi!!!! He is 11 months this sunday and can't believe how fast this year has gone. I want to thank everyone for their continued prayers and comments on Liam's website. Again sorry for no updates. I will be posting alot of pictures soon, here is a couple to see how much he has grown over the summer!!! And a group picture of Liam's older brother and sisters, Christin, Kyra Hope, Aryanna and Jake.
OO Liam has a new friend, her name is Sophie and she is a 1 year old black pug, she loves Liam and gives him alot of kisses, and at first he didn't know what to think of all the kisses because our other 2 dogs don't bother him and never have licked him, but he likes her alot!

This summer is flying by fast! We been swimming and trying to stay cool. Liam has a little stuffy nose and having a hard time sleeping the last couple nights but today he has been sneezing the stuff i can't pull out with the suction. His Physical Therapy is coming up but i have been giving him lots of tummy time and now as soon as you put him on his tummy he rolls right to back, he doesn't want to be on his stomach at all!! Now to get him to roll from back to his tummy but i am sure with the Physical therapy he will be doing that before no time. We are going to be putting him in a jumper because he needs to get his legs strengthened up. I have lost my battery charger for the camera and will be posting pictures as soon as i find it. Here are some from last week of him eating and right before bedtime that i uploaded last week and haven't had the chance to put them up until now. Liam loves the pool and if you say Pool he gets really excited and kicks his legs, so we know he knows what pool means. Liam had his Cardiologist appt and she said everything sounded fine and his EKG looked good, she made some adjustments to 1 of his heart medicines since he put on a little weight, Liam is 14 pounds!!! wooo hooo he is eating well and the weight is starting to come on!!! They will be calling me with his next appointment in 4 months!!! 2 months had me on pins and needles i don't know what i feel now i think i am numb Ha Ha! but that means he is doing good and they will be doing an Echo after his 1st Birthday to make sure everything is growing properly. I will let you know when that date is too.
I found a Physical Therapy place and will be calling them in the morning to make an appointment. I will let you know when his appt is with some pictures when i get a date. I hope everyones summer is good and safe, we miss everyone and thank you for the continued prayers

June Update

Sorry its been a while, the kids got out of school and its been Crazy!!! Liam went to his Physical Therapy appt June 5th but it wasn't really a PT it was to see if he was approved for it and he was, He is at a level of a 3 month old and so theres a lot of work to do this summer with him. The only problem is they don't do the Physical Therapy there where we went and I have to find a Therapist for him, So my hunt for a PT is on! Liam is now eating!!! Yay! He loves bananas and applesauce and Pears, today he will be trying squash for the first time. June 14th was the first time he said MA MA!! Now he says it all the time!!!! He is also trying to say THAT, every time we show him something he says Dat Dat its sooo cute! July 1st is his next Cardiology appointment, so that will be the first time in 2 months that he has seen her and I hope we get good news. I will be getting summer pictures up soon, I will be keeping up with updates and posts more now that we have this summer schedule under control. Happy Summer!

Liam's Cardiologist Update

Liam had his Cardiologist appointment yesterday and he is doing great! He weighs 12 pounds 7 oz and 25 ½ inches long! She won't be seeing him for 2 months now! That makes me nervous but i know that its a good thing because Liam is doing so good. The next step now is to get him caught up on his motor skills and to eat! His physical therapy session is June 5th but i need to set up his speech therapy that will teach him that when food goes in his mouth it just doesn't sit there lol I will be posting pictures soon, i been so busy and the kids are getting anxious that school will be getting out soon. Liams update

Sorry its been a while for an update, Liam is now off the Nebulizer it took about 2 and half weeks to clear him up. He is doing wonderful now and we are going to see the Cardiologist on Tuesday May 13th for an echo and EKG. He is signed up to go to Speech Therapy and Early Interventions since he isn't taking food very well and very behind on Motor Skills he doesn't roll or can't sit up and his head is still very wobbly when you hold him up but he likes sitting up and seeing the world in a different view. I can't believe he is 7 months old where does the time go?? He is such a happy baby he smiles at everyone and barely cries for anything, We are very blessed to have Liam in our lives and the support and prayers from friends and Family, i will be posting new pictures up soon with his Cardiologist appt update

Liam's Update

Liam is still on his nebulizer, he seems to be getting a little bit better, Tomorrow he has a Pediatrician appointment for follow up. He is doing well and he his color is getting better too. Liam's Cardiologist called me to see how he was doing and she felt that the treatments and upped dosage of Lasix he should be feeling better by next week. He will be going to his Cardiologist appointment on May 5th. I will update on his Pediatrician appt tomorrow. The pictures i am posting is Liam's new tricks he likes to roll over on his side and then somehow i never see him do it, but he gets to be sideways in the bed its so cute , and the one with Liam sleeping is from this morning. Sorry its been a while since i posted. Liam went to see the cardiologist on Friday April 4th and his Cardiology appt went great, his heart and surgery looked great. Liam still has his cough, and over the weekend it has worsened. So today i took him to his Pediatrician to see what she thinks and she called his Cardiologist and she told his Pediatrician to order a chest xray to make sure that no fluid is in his lungs or around the lung also she told her to go ahead and put him on nebulizer treatments so his cough isn't so hard because Sunday his color was really bad so i was sure his 02 sats were not good at all. So he is on the treatments every 4 hours. He had his chest xray and they did find a pocket of Fluid, so his doctor faxed the Cardiologist the xray reports and tomorrow they will call me. I hope this isn't going to be a step back from a fast and speedy recovery. I will def let you know tomorrow when the doctors call me back, thank you for the Continued prayers we appreciate them!

Liams trip to the Surgeon

Liam had his chest x-ray and saw the Surgeon, everything was great, no fluid and he said his color and O2 Sats were great! They took out all his Sutures and said they look great too. The surgeon said Liam is doing awesome and he will see us in 2 years!!! Hopefully these next 2 years nothing goes wrong but he will be going to see his Cardiologist every month .Liam has an Appointment on April 4th and i will update that appointment too.

Liam's Check Up

Sorry I haven't updated but we got a phone call yesterday and they want to see Liam today for a chest x-ray to make sure no fluid has accumulated in the lungs and to check his sutures for infection, so i am heading out the door this morning and won't return until later this evening, I will post an update when I get home. Liam's Home!!!

Liam is home!!! 5 days after surgery and he is home, thank you all for all the prayers and support! we greatly appreciated them.They took his chest tubes out on Friday morning and moved him to the step down unit at 12 in the afternoon. It has just moved along so fast! Liam was not happy with those tubes in and when i went to see him in the step down unit and he gave me the biggest smile for the first time. I am sorry i haven't updated but i have been with him every second since and taking care of him holding him and feeding him. He is just a strong boy. Liam has headaches they call Glenn Headaches and he is on tylenol for that. I can't stand to see him in pain, and to see him cry just breaks my heart. They gave him another xray on Saturday and after that they planned to dishcharge him either Sunday or Monday, but he had no problems and discharged us Sunday afternoon and we were home by 8 pm Sunday. Liam was so glad to be home, and see his own bed and his sisters and brother. He woke up a few times last night but slept in this morning and he is so happy to be home. We are too!!! God Is Good. Liam has to go back and see his surgeon they are suppose to call today with the appointment and i have to make an appointment for next week also with his Cardiologist and make 1 more appt with his peditrician. I will be posting pictures soon, I couldnt get them up in the Hospital. I will be updating soon :)

Update on Liam

Liam was taken off the respirator today. He's on oxygen. He is puffy and swollen and his leg is swollen because of previous surgeries and his veins are narrow. He's in pain and on morphine. He's resting right now on pain meds. I'm staying in his room watching him. Tomorrow they will see if they will remove the chest tubes. Tomorrow there will be more updates, but pictures will have to be posted later. Trying to get pictures.

Liam's Cardiologist Appt and New Surgery date

Hi, well we are officially not sick in this house anymore! and we had my brother and his wife Erik and Mary visiting over the weekend it was really nice to have them and the kids missed them, they only live a few hours away, they got to visit and be with Liam and he was like them alot and gave them all kinds of smiles. They left today and we already miss them. Liam has a Cardiologist appointment tomorrow morning February 4th at 9 am so thats what we will be doing tomorrow and I will update tomorrow after that appointment. Liam's surgeon called me and changed the date of his surgery, instead of March 14th it will now be March 18th on a Tuesday, so we will be checking in at the Ronald Mcdonald house on Monday the 17th and then go to the hospital and check in for pretesting and then we will go back to the Ronald Mcdonald house with Liam and spend our last night with him before his surgery and get up and checked in at 6 am. I am trying to post the pictures from the Heart Cath but having problems, prob user problems and not computer ha! I will update tomorrow sometime if i can :)

Update on Heart Catheterization and 2nd Surgery!

Hello everyone, well the Heart Cath went great, We checked in the hospital at 530 in the morning and then at 630 they took us to where his room was.Liam did so good since the last time he ate was at 1030pm and he wasn't allowed to eat after 12 and he got up about 330 am and he was full of smiles like always!!
About an hour later they came and got him for the Cath Lab, we got to go down to the lab and go inside and be with him until the doctors came, so we undressed him and got him comfortable on the table that he was going to be on for the procedure. About 15 min later the doctors were ready to get things started with the anesthesia and so we went to the waiting room and waited until they called us to go to the recovery room which was about 4 hours later. They said once Liam woke up he could go back to his room, well we waited and waited and waited and waited and Liam would not wake up he would open his eyes if we said his name but he would still just go back to sleep,so finally 5 hours later my little guy woke up! We got back to his room and he wasn't allowed to eat formula just clear pedialyte so he drank that down and he was very fussy and not happy, i never seen him so mad before :( he fell asleep alot and woke up mad and then they let us start him on formula. We thought we were going home but they told us he will be staying overnight, which we really weren't prepared for. about 2 hours later Liam's surgeon came in and told us that he looked great just a little narrowing nothing to worry about right now, and everything is still doing what its suppose to be doing, and that Thursday he had another heart patient surgery but it got cancelled because the patient was ill and wanted to know if we wanted to take that slot for Liam. My heart had stopped because i was not ready for any of this, if it would have been an emergency then i had no choice, but he did say that he understood if we couldn't because it is short notice, he just thought since we were already going to be in the hospital then it would be easier, but we chose not to do the surgery on Thursday, because i did want to be able to get ready not just try to get in the Ronald Mcdonald House and pack and say goodbye to the kids since i left Tuesday morning and the kids hadn't seen us all day and they wouldn't see us until the next day. So this morning the Surgeon and the Pediatric Cardiology team had a meeting about Liam and decided that we could pick which date for the surgery. So we had discussed last night when was a good time for Liam's surgery which in my mind i wish i didn't have to choose but of course i need to get back to reality, so they gave us the available dates and we picked Friday March 14th.So in 2 weeks we will be back at the hospital and atleast we get to spend more time with Liam and the kids before we are back on the Roller Coaster Ride. We have to be at the Hospital on Thursday March 13th for all his labs and chest xrays and to check into the Ronald Mcdonald house and then we all stay the night at the Ronald Mcdonald house and he gets checked in at the Unit at 6am. Please continue to pray and i hope these next 2 weeks go by very slow, i am going to try to get the pictures up that we took from the hospital soon

Heart Cath Update

Hello, sorry i haven't updated in a while. I have been real busy dealing with sick kids for the last 3 weeks including myself and trying to keep Liam from getting ill. Glad to report that Liam did not get sick the whole 3 weeks this household was sick whew!!! Liam is 5 months old today!!! Where did the time go? He has done so much in the last month, he loves to play and he discovered his voice a couple weeks ago and loves to talk all the time, i thought he was crying because he has been so quiet and i would check on him and he is just talking its so cute! He loves to play and laughs at everything. I will try to get more Pictures up soon my camera card is full so now i have to develop those and get more pictures! Well i got the call and Liam's Heart Cath is set up for this Tuesday Feb 26th, so we have to be checked in at the Hospital at 6am. So please continue to pray that the procedure goes smoothly with no complications and that he stays well for this procedure since there is still a little virus going on with the kids here in the house, so i have been sanitizing everything every day and i was sick Last weekend and through half the week. I will update and let you know how the Heart Cath Procedure went

In Memory of Pastor Terry Clark

I just learned yesterday that Pastor Clark has passed away 2 nights ago and that he had suffered from a heart attack. Anyone that didn't know Pastor Clark, he was a great man, reminded me of my father. Caring, funny and a lot of wisdom and not quick to get away always made time to talk to you. Pastor Clark did me and Jerry's wedding ceremony and he also helped us get our girls into Emmanuel Lutheran School. Kyra Hope went from the 3 year old class to graduating Kindergarten and Aryanna was there from 3 years old to 4 year old class. I am forever grateful for Pastor Clark with getting the girls into Emmanuel Lutheran. The teachers there were wonderful and worked with the kids and they saw Pastor every Wednesday for Chapel. He has done other amazing things for my family also his kindness and prayers for Liam there are so many things i can go on about Pastor Clark. The girls were just talking about him the other day they asked when we came for a visit if we could go see Pastor Clark and i had told them Definitely! He is a special person in my family and will always be remembered and will always be in our hearts. You are so much going to be missed!

They occur in 35,000 to 40,000 births each year in the U.S. alone. They are the number 1 cause of neonatal and infant death. Give to CHD research..be a blood and tissue donor, and encourage others to be, and make a diference in a child's life today.

Liam's Cardiologist Update

Today Liam saw his Cardiologist, and she did an echo, the Echo revealed it was time to go ahead with the next surgery. The Conduit they placed in his heart for the surgery is now starting to Narrow. So they are setting up a Heart Cat for him, I will post when that is being done, they are going to call me with the Appointment. What the Heart Cat is going to do is check all the pressures for the lungs and to make sure that everything has grown correctly and they check his ventricle and his arteries to make sure those are good so he can heal quicker too after surgery
After the Cat, all the cardios and the surgical team get together and have a meeting on Liam and then they set the date for his surgery. But the appointment went well and she said he is still smaller than she like him but he is gaining almost a pound a month, he was 10 pounds and 23 and half inches. I will update when I get a phone call from the doctors in Miami

Liam's Shots

Liam had his shots yesterday. they did 2 in each leg!!! my poor baby. He ended up with a fever last night and he was really cranky all night so we didn't get any sleep. All day today he was feverish but it finally broke about 2 today. I was actually getting kind of worried, I never had any problems with fevers with Jake or the girls after their shots so I am glad that he is doing so much better.Now he is awake and playing and smiling. He is back to sweet happy Liam. He will probably not go to sleep until later tonight since he slept all day. I called Early Interventions today because i wanted to see what they were all about and to see how they can help Liam and help me to get Liam on track since he still can't hold his head up very well and I know they said these babies are delayed. They told me that since he is near his next surgery and once he is healed and the doctors ok to do Physical Therapy to give them a call. I don't know if i would need them or if it would be good for him to go through that kind of therapy since his heart will probably get a work out. Thats going to be on the List of asking his Cardiologist and see what she says and thinks on February 4th. I will Post Pictures soon

Today Liam had his doctors appointment. He recieved his RSV shot and was weighed he now weighs 9½ pounds and is 23 inches long his 02 stats are at 84. They first showed at 70 and the nurse got nervous and i said try again and it stayed at 84. Liam's next trip down to Miami won't be until his Heart Cath. Feb 4th he goes to his Cardiologist and she is going to look him over and schedule the Heart Cath. After they get the results, she will be calling the Surgeon and discussing when his next surgery is going to be and scheduling the date for it. Liam goes to the Pediatrician on Jan 22nd for his shots. I can't believe that Liam is going to be 4 months next week. I am so blessed to have such a good boy and to have been able to bring him home and have all this wonderful bonding time, him going in for this Heart Cath they told me has alot of risks of Heart Attack and other things can happen like a punctured lung or the heart and stroke , so i am very nervous about this Procedure and the Surgery especially that he has a higher risk for these surgeries and any procedures because of his coronary sinusoids. HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! Hope your New Years was good with family and friends. Liam went to his appointment this morning and they did and EKG and Echo on him. Everything looked great, no leaky valves everything doing like it is suppose to, his conduit was also doing just fine. We didn't see his regular Cardiologist, so he wanted to see him in 2 months which i was worried about since he is being seen monthly, but he said that he should be fine. I see the Surgeon in 2 weeks January 16th, which is also my mothers birthday :). I will be posting more pictures soon, just trying to find time to do it, right now the kids are out for winter break so i will get them up maybe this weekend. Also Liam had a green thing on his chest, The cardiologist said it was just fine and should fall off soon just keep it dry, its a stitch that hasn't dissolved yet.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas, I finally get to do my Christmas update. We had a wonderful day and delicious Christmas dinner. The kids were spoiled and Liam, he slept the whole day!!! Well last night I woke Liam up for his Medicine and to get him ready to eat and i noticed his eye looked funny so i turned on the light and he had this big red spot in the white of his eye. Today i took him to the doctor and they said that its a eye hemorrhage and its seen in people who are on anticoagulants and a sneeze cough or strain to go to the bathroom and vomiting can cause the pressure on the vein break. She said that its going to take a couple weeks to heal and if it gets worse or goes in the other eye to go see an ophthalmologist. So that was todays journey. Other than that Liam is just wonderful to be with and his eye doesn't bother he is just full of smiles. I will be posting Christmas pictures soon

PEDIATRICIAN APPOINTMENT

Liam went for his weight check and now we are confused because my doctors scale says that Liam weighs 9 pounds 4 oz and which is 4.2 kilos instead of 3.9 which is 8 pounds. So we still don't know who scale is right, I would pick the 9 pound 4oz one lol she says hers is correct. I don't know, but also Liam has this green thing where his chest incision is and she said it looks like a suture stitch that didn't dissolve, i am glad its not anything else. Well Liam is going to his Cardiologist a few days after Christmas so we will see what her scale says. I am going to try to post more Pictures soon.
Thank You for continuing to follow Liam's journey and the prayers they are greatly appreciated. I really need to see that since all thats on my mind is Liam's next surgery and its getting close and i have bonded so well with Liam and I am just don't know how strong I will be when i hand him back over to the doctors.

Liam's RSV shot

Finally yesterday Liam went for his RSV shot. He was smiling at the nurse and she couldn't give him the shot, she kept saying sorry Liam this is going to hurt but then she was like i can't give him this shot with him smiling at me like this. She waited and every time she go to give it to him he just shoot his big flirty smile, then she said sorry Liam sorry mom i have to do this well he screamed so loud i cried i never heard him scream like that, so i picked him up and gave him hugs, he actually cried for a few minutes.They said those shots really hurt. I can't believe he has to get that shot every month :( they weighed him and he was 3.9 kilos which is 8 pounds. Since last month he has only gained 5oz. So now we have to add the 1cc of vegetable oil to the 24 calorie formula to make it 30 calories because he didn't gain a full pound but at least he is gaining, slowly but surely. Tomorrow he has to go to his Pediatrician for a weight check, since she is watching his weight gain too. His next appointment is to see the Pediatric Cardiologist which is a few days after Christmas. Then down to Miami 2 and half weeks later to see his Surgeon. Nothing else new to report except Liam loves to smile, he just stares at you and when you make eye contact he can't stop smiling.

Sorry there haven't been any post, we have been getting ready for Christmas!. We are so excited and can't wait for the kids to open their presents and spend it with Liam and his first Christmas.
Liam is suppose to go next week for his RSV shot sometime, I have to call Monday to see what they scheduled for him, Also he has a weight check and a shot at the Peditricians on December 21st. Liam is such a good baby, we are so blessed to have him, he just loves to be held and watch his brother and sisters run around here crazy and he doesn't know what the 2 dogs are all about but he watches them wrestle and bark at each other. He only cries when he is hungry. Everything that he has been through since birth I didn't know how he was going to be, all i can say is he is such a GOOD bAby! Liam also has to be in Miami on January 16th to see his surgeon. I think after we go see the Cardiologist on December 28th, she will probably be reporting to the Surgeon, and then he is going to look Liam over and they will probably be deciding on the date of his next surgery. But i am not going to even talk about that right now, i am going to enjoy the holidays with him first!

Cardio Appointment

Liam had his Cardiologist Appt this Morning, and everything looks great. She didn't do an Echo because she said she felt he sounded good. His Saturations were at the highest 82 today but i mostly saw lower 70's . She said it will go down as he grows. She told me to continue to watch for fast breathing and to see if he is sweating but he is doing very good and I haven't seen any of that. His next appointment is Next month and we will be scheduling his Pulmonary doctor this week for his RSV shot since he is behind. Liam was weighed today and was 7 pounds 11oz she was happy to see he gained a pound since his last appointment. He will be going in for a weight check in the next couple weeks hopefully he will gain some more ounces since now she told me to up the amount of formula that he drinks from 2 ounces now to 2½ ounces, and i started that the other day since he has been looking for more. I will give my next update for his weight check.

Peditrician Appointment

Liam had his first shots it hurt me more than him because he cried for a half a second and me a whole minute. Liam weighs 7 pounds 12 oz so he put on a pound since his last visit yay. I keep forgetting to ask how much he grew, but he has a weight check appt next month to make sure he is putting on enough weight. Liam has to go to a Pulminologist and start getting his RSV shots which he is a month behind he has to get a series of those, and a gastro doctor for his Reflux. His reflux is doing good but she wants to make sure everything is fine there.
Liam's first Thanksgiving was awesome, all his family was here at the house with us.It was awesome to have both his aunts and uncles and grandparents here. We are definitely thankful for friends and family and all the prayers and Thankful for Liam!!!

WEST PALM BEACH

Liam had a pediatric cardiologist appointment this morning in West Palm Beach. She checked him over and we went over his medicines that he takes, she didn't change anything this time, but she said maybe next time she will change the amount he gets. She said for life he will be on this one medicine he takes for his heart called Captiprol. Also I will be seeing her once a month unless something comes up. He is in the upper 80's about 83-87 for oxygen it got to 91 before we left but she marked it down as upper 8o's. Liam was about 92 to 95 in the hospital. His next appointment is November 28th. She said Liam's next surgery depending on how his conduit is doing in the heart and what his oxygen numbers are. So she said the next surgery is going to be 2 to 4 months from now. Hopefully the 4 months!!!!

Home From Miami again..

Liam is doing fine, They said he doesn't have any infections and the suture looked fine even though the sutures dissolved and the skin was still open, they said that was normal. As for him throwing up every meal they told me since he has the reflux he needs to eat small amounts and then burped and then wait 10 min and feed him more and do the same until he is done eating, then hold him for a while upright, i guess we were doing that but having Jake being so demanding its easy to put the baby down and tend to Jake, but now we just have to hold Liam a little longer, which there are no complaints here. I will figure it out some how and Jake loves the baby and has showed no signs of Jealousy at all, so he can wait a few more minutes.

Today we are leaving for Miami, we are worried, one of the tube incisions that was below the belly button has opened. We are hoping he its not infected. Not only that Liam is not holding any of his feedings and eating less. We will let you know an update when we get back, I hope they don't keep him, but if they do its for the best. Miami Trip

Today was Liam's doctor's appointment to see the Surgeon. He Checked Liam's incisions and he has an infection so they prescribed him Keflex antibiotic. They told me he might get an infection so they were not worried and its not too bad it just started so he should be fine.
They want him eating more, he is only eating 35 cc's which is 1 ounce and they want him eating 60 cc's so i guess they want him to fatten up for his next surgery which he said would be at 4months of age to 6 months of age. Now to get him to eat more than he is eating. They want me to make another pediatrician appointment in 2 weeks just to see if he has gained any weight. I am having a problem with him throwing up every time he goes over 35 cc's, I hope he starts eating more so i don't have to supplement formula or have the Feeding tube back in. But I think he will start eating more soon. I will keep you updated for the next doctors appointment which is October 31'st to his Pediatric Cardiologist.

Liam went to the doctor. He weighs 7 pounds even so he is trying to catch up to his birth weight which was 7 and a half pounds, they measured him but we were asking questions about his surgery so I never got how much he grew. They didn't get all his medical records from the hospital yet so the doctor basically asked me a bunch of questions about the pregnancy and his birth and then surgery. His Next appointment will be for shots November 21st. He will be going to Miami tomorrow to see Dr Rosenkranz, his Surgeon. I don't see the Pediatric Cardiologist until October 31st, She will be the one deciding on when Liam has his Second Surgery. They said its usually between the age of 3 to 6 months, hopefully he will stay healthy until his 6th month so i don't have to go through all of this again so soon. A new Picture will be up soon

HOME!!!! Thursday morning doctors were telling me that Liam was doing really well and that he was on all of his medicines to go home on. So I was thinking we still had another week or longer! Later they came by and asked about all his doctors i have for him and their phone numbers so he could make appointments for Liam. Later that evening a nurse came by and was asking me questions and started to mention When Liam goes home, and so I asked her since home was being used so much today when was Liam coming home? She Looked at me and said no one told me? She said you are taking Liam home tomorrow!!!! I was really dumbfounded. So Friday we took Liam to the Ronald Mcdonald House and stayed one more night because we were not packed up and ready to leave and plus it was past the time to check out. Saturday Morning Jerry drove me and Liam home at 8 am and he came back to Miami to pack up and check out. I want to thank you for all the continuous prayers for Liam, it means so much to us. We have a lot of doctors appointments this week. He has to see his Pediatric Cardiologist on Wednesday and then Thursday we have to go back down to Miami and see the surgeon that operated on Liam, and then he has his regular Pediatrician appointment. Liam is doing great, he is catching up on all the missed sleep he didn't get in the hospital, since they had to do something to him every 5 to 10 min and all his monitors beeping all the time.
The girls and Jake are so happy that we are home, since they have missed us so much, they came to stay with us at the Ronald Mcdonald house on Fridays Saturdays and then left after dinner on Sunday to go back home for the school week. It feels really good to be home and see all the prayers for our little fighter, Liam. look for more updates after Liam's doctors appointments and I will be posting a new picture of Liam real soon.

On Wednesday, they took the feeding tube out of Liam's nose and he is feeding on his own now. They are giving him the medicine that he will go home with in hopefully a couple weeks.

Liam was taken off the respirator on Saturday. He's breathing on his own and I got to hold him for the first time. I was able to bottle feed him as well. Sorry there hasn't been more updates, but it is very long nights in the hospital.

Liam's Progress

Liam had a pic line put in yesterday since all his iv's are falling out. They also Extubated(took out his breathing tube) him at 4:15 pm. He did great all day, We finally got to see his face again. About 11pm as i was leaving to go get some rest i noticed him breathing harder and called the doctor in the room, he said he had a little congestion so they ordered him a abuterol treatment, and i stayed until he was done and he was breathing alot better. This morning we came in to see him and they re-intubated(put the tube back in) him. They said that he started breathing harder again and that the congestion is just too much for the air to get into his lungs. We thank everyone for the continuous prayers, comments and concerns.

Pneumonia

Liam had his chest closed on Monday. By Liam's gasses they knew he had some infection but couldn't determine what it was. On Sunday through studies, and cultures they determined that Liam now has pneumonia. He is on the strongest antibiotics to help cure his pneumonia. He will remain on the respirator and is being fed mothers milk through a feeding tube he is only getting 15 cc's every hour . We will keep you updated. Thank you for your prayers.

Chest Closing Update

Liam did great on the procedure to close his chest.He had minor Blood Pressure issues after but they got him stable and it was normal for after this kind of procedure. He is doing well. Today is Monday October 1st. Liam is going to have his chest closed today since they kept it open after surgery so he could heal and for no infections. He will be in surgery for a few hours. We ask for your prayers and thank you for them. We will update as soon as possible.

Liam's First Surgery

Thankfully Liam successfully completed his first of 3 heart reconstruction surgery today. His surgery began at 7:45 A.M. (Friday Setp 28) and Liam left the operating room at 5:30pm. Our thanks to Dr. Rosenkranz and his team for this miraculous surgery. Dr. Rosenkranz said that Liam did well in surgery and everything could be expected to go well did go well. Liam will now be in the cardiac neonatal intensive care unit for at least one month. Liam will be under sedation for at least six days. Currently, the doctors have not closed his chest. On Monday the surgeons will return to do that. The next seven days are critical. The following month to come Liam will be gathering strength to be discharged and to head home. We will be staying at the Ronald McDonald House for parents beginning tonight. Please keep Liam in your prayers. The whole family thanks you for your help and concern.

Complications for Surgery

Liam is going into surgery on Friday the 28th at 7 am. The doctors have discovered yet another problem in his heart. The left side has a small chamber which will not release the blood that is pumped into it. This causes high blood pressure for Liam. The doctors are aware of this problem and will take extreme caution during surgery. This is a rare circumstance, even among those that have HLHS. It will make tomorrow's surgery more difficult and more dangerous, yet not impossible. Please keep Liam in your prayers. We have pictures, but no way to upoad them at the hospital. Birth Announcement

Liam was born at 1:52 pm today!
He is 7 pounds 6 ounces, 19 ¾ inches long. He has blond hair and blue eyes. I had a natural delivery, not C-section. Liam is scheduled for heart surgery on Friday the 28th and it is going to be a six hour procedure. He’s breathing on his own but is being watched closely. Pictures will follow soon. Liam is in the NICU and will be on a medication that will prevent the top of the heart from closing before surgery as would be in the womb.

This means that Liam will be born with only half of his heart functioning. Shortly after Liam is born,he will undergo Major surgery to reconstruct his heart.
